Intensive Counseling

Relationship Solutions is pleased to introduce our intensive counseling program. This unique counseling experience is designed to support couples and adult individuals who need a treatment approach other than the traditional weekly counseling model. The intensive counseling program is available for five and ten days and can kick start the healing process. This is a particularly good option for those individuals who feel that weekly counseling sessions have not provided sufficient time to address the presenting problems they are experiencing.

For many people, the one hour per week model of therapy is appropriate and very beneficial. Meeting with a skilled clinical therapist on a regular basis can help them successfully achieve the therapy goals they have. In some cases however, this weekly model of therapy is not intensive enough to treat the core problems that are present. Some clients even report feeling worse after their hourly appointments because there is not enough time to dig deep into the issues and find resolution before the time is up. Some clients also find that weekly appointments are not realistic for their schedules and participating in regular weekly appointments is very difficult. If weekly appointments are not beneficial then a five or a 10 day intensive counseling program may be a better solution.

Our intensive counseling program consists of three hour blocks each day for five or ten days (Mondays through Fridays). Your work will be with the same clinical professional for the duration of your program to ensure consistent and thorough care. During the course of your treatment, your therapist will assess for past trauma(s), attachment injuries, and underlying needs and issues that are interfering with your success. With this knowledge, your counselor will then begin guiding you through exercises and clinical interventions to help you find the relief and healing that you are seeking.

Does it seem like other people have a much easier time managing stress, losing weight, beating addictions, or just getting their lives together? Maybe they ARE having an easier time of things. Some of us have invisible scars and the wounds and injuries that we have experienced are not visible to others or even to ourselves. So many of us assume we are being weak or not trying hard enough when in reality we are struggling against invisible obstacles that need professional attention and intervention to overcome.

We’ve all heard the saying that time heals all wounds but when it comes to trauma, loss, or relationship conflict this is not always a true statement. Time may distance us from the painful event but it does not separate us from the pain that we carry from all that we’ve experienced.. Much like a broken bone, we only heal when proper treatment is applied. If you feel stuck and unable to reach the goals you have for your life, our intensive counseling program may be right for you. Call (479)242-3200 or send us a message at frontdesk@myrelationshipsolutions.com today. We look forward to visiting with you.

How do I know if I need to schedule a five or a ten day intensive counseling program?

For many people, the five day intensive is appropriate if they are generally stable and not in an active crisis. Because sessions are three hours long and five consecutive days, much progress can be achieved during this time.

The ten day intensive is appropriate for people who are in an active crisis, including the recent discovery of an affair, a recent loss or trauma, or the presence of self-destructive behaviors. Ten days will give you and your counselor time to sift through the immediate pain you are feeling and help you stabilize enough to address the underlying needs, hurts and fears that are present.
